Josi Spears later came on and logged six minutes in the match helping to keep the shutout in tact.
In the 22
nd minute, Caroline Barcelona and Kayla Martin picked up where they left off last season as the previous got a pass from the latter before sending a ball past the Lady Hawk goalkeeper putting the Lady Bears ahead 1-0.
Both teams continued to battle over the next 52 minutes before Southwest added to its lead. Arely Diaz took in a pass from Evie Peet before scoring giving the Lady Bears a 2-0 advantage.
Not even 10:00 later, the Lady Bears scored their third and final goal when Abby Davis connected with Amari Simmons who sent the ball to the back of the net making the score the eventual final.
