Box Score The Lady Bears went into Tuesday's season finale at home against No. 14 Pearl River hoping to build momentum heading into the offseason.
 
And after a tough 90:00 against a very good Wildcat team, the Lady Bears walked away with a 2-2 draw.
 
"We knew that we were already out of the playoffs, so I told the girls 'what do we have to lose,'" Southwest head coach Nicole Cooper said. "Let's come out, play good soccer and get a result in our favor. Honestly, we had so many chances and opportunities, we could have put a couple more away."
 
The Lady Bears (6-6-4, 2-6-3 MACCC) fell behind in the 19^th minute as the Wildcats struck first. The score, unfortunately, pushed the momentum clearly on the visiting side and Pearl River used it to its advantage, adding a goal less than 2:00 later putting Southwest down 2-0.
 
The Lady Bears continued to fight and got on the board in the 35^th minute when Jada Houston got a pass from Tiaona Frick before scoring, making it a 2-1 game.
 
Deep in the second half, the Lady Bears kept pushing for the equalizer and they got it in the 79^th minute on a shot from Evie Peet from about 25 yards out following a pass from Ellyana Holman.
 
As both teams continued to battle, the Lady Bears could not get the go-ahead goal as the match ended in a draw.
