Lady Bears drop a close one at Meridian

It was another close one for the Lady Bears Friday night in Meridian, but, despite their best efforts, they unfortunately came out on the short end of a 2-1 loss to the host Lady Eagles.

The Lady Bears (2-12, 1-6 MACJC South) took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Josselyn Hernandez scored from close range in the 45^th minute. Destiny Gladden provided the assist.

The lead held up until the 63^rd minute when a goal by the Lady Eagles' Jessica Clark knotted things at 1-1. Effie Morrison then scored the game-winner for the hosts in the 80^th minute.

Lady Bears' keeper Jennifer Solis saved 17 of 19 shots on goal.

The Lady Bears return to action on October 12 when they host the Lady Wildcats of Pearl River. Action is set to get underway at 2:00.
