Lady Bears play hard against 14th ranked Jones County, but fall 5-1

After battling the undefeated and 14th-ranked Jones County Lady Bobcats to a 1-1 first half tie Friday afternoon, the Southwest Lady Bears were unable to hang in there during the second half and dropped a tough 5-1 MACJC South Division soccer match at home.
 
Jones County (15-0, 9-0) took a 1-0 lead at 19:00 on a goal from Katie Johnson. But, just two minutes later, the Lady Bears (3-12-1, 2-6-1) knotted the match at 1-1 when Nicole Daigle scored on a free kick from 35 yards out.
 
The teams remained tied until 49:00 when the Lady Bobcats regained the lead for good on Johnson's second goal of the match. They later added two goals by Lara Gunter and one by Dallas McKinnon.
 
The Lady Bears close out their season on Wednesday when they travel to Meridian for a 5:00 South Division contest.
