Lady Bears fall to Gulf Coast

Southwest split a pair of MACJC South Division soccer matches with visiting Mississippi Gulf Coast Tuesday as the Bears picked up an historic 2-1 win and the Lady Bears fell 4-0.
 
The Lady Bears’ loss dropped them to 4-8 (1-5) while the Gulf Coast ladies, who also won the state title in 2011, climbed to 6-6 (3-4).
 
Things did not go well for the Southwest ladies. With Brianna Holmes and Parish Blackmon both scoring, the Lady Bulldogs built a 2-0 halftime lead. They added two more goals in the second half to take the win.
 
Southwest takes to the home field for the last time this season on Friday when they host Jones County. Game times are 2:00 for the ladies and 4:00 for the men.
