Southwest Tennis season gets underway

Southwest Tennis started its season on January 29^th versus Bevill State at home.

The men's team lost 2-7 and the women's team lost 4-5.

Their next match was on the road against Alcorn State.

This resulted the men's and women's team both losing 0-4

Tennis' next match finally saw a win as the team traveled to Jackson to play Millsaps College.

Lady Bear tennis got their first win of the season beating Millsaps 4-3 while the men's team lost 2-5.

Women's tennis kept their win streak going in their next match beating Mississippi University for Women 7-0. The men's team lost 1-6.

Southwest Men's tennis got their first win at home on February 10^th against Hinds winning 5-4. The women's match came down to the wire with them losing 4-5 to Hinds.

Luca Cividini beat the #10 ranked player in the nation in a 3-set tie breaker to help the men's team get the win.

7 tie breakers came down to 3rd sets in the match against Hinds.

"Lots of heart on the courts today! Thomas Simpson won a 3rd set tie breaker to clinch the team win," said Head Coach Dean Clower.

Southwest Tennis will be back in action on Friday, February 13^th as they travel to Jackson to play Belhaven.
