Hoping to wrap up the week with big road wins, the No. 24 Bear Men and the Bear Women Tennis teams traveled to Northeast, Friday, aiming to top the Tigers.
And despite playing hard against the tough Tiger teams, the Bears unfortunately came up short falling 6-3 on the men's side and 4-2 on the women's.
Among the highlights for the Bear Women was the play of No. 1 singles Martina Troncoso who won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 and was victorious in her doubles match with partner Anna Comeaux as they picked up an 8-1 victory.
On the men's side the No. 3 doubles team of Juan Cifuentes and Thomas Simpson won 8-4.
Simpson also shined as the No. 6 singles, winning his match 3-6, 6-3, 1-0.
Also walking away with a win was No. 3 singles Manan Kumar who picked up a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 victory.
Both teams return to action on Tuesday at 2 p.m. hosting a pair of ranked Itawamba teams at 2 p.m. The men are ranked No. 17 and the women No. 21.
