Lady Bears close season with win at Meridian

The Lady Bears closed the 2021 soccer campaign with a 1-0 win on the road at Meridian Community College.

With the win, the Lady Bears ended the year at 4-9 overall and 3-7 in the MACCC South. Meridian ended the campaign at 3-8-1, 3-6-1.

The teams battled to a 0-0 tie at the end of the first half. They appeared headed to overtime play when Haven Jarvis took a ball by herself through four defenders and was finally fouled in the box. Juana Wulff stepped up to take the penalty kick and, with ice in her veins, put the ball into the goal for what proved to be the game-winner.

Sophomore keeper Camila Cevallos had six saves for the Lady Bears.
