Lady Bears, Gulf Coast battle to 1-1 double overtime tie

The Lady Bears and Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs battled to a 1-1 overtime tie Friday evening in Perkinston in MACJC South Division soccer action.
 
After a scoreless first half, Gulf Coast (0-4-1, 0-2-1) took a 1-0 lead at the 50:15 mark. The lead held up until 52:40 of the game when Driade Moreira found the goal for the Lady Bears from 25 yards out to tie the game at 1-1.
 
Neither team would be able to score the remainder of regular or in either of the 10:00 overtime sessions leaving them deadlocked.
 
The Lady Bears (0-4-1, 0-1-1) return to action on September 10 when they travel to Poplarville to face Pearl River. The contest is set for a 5:00 start.
