Late goals help Pearl River defeat Lady Bears

Two late goals helped the home standing Pearl River Lady Wildcats defeat the Southwest Lady Bears, 3-1, in MACJC South Division soccer action Friday night in Poplarville.
 
Kira Morrell put Pearl River (3-1, 2-1 South) on top 1-0 in the 28th minute and the Lady Wildcats took the lead into halftime.
 
The Lady Bears (1-5, 0-3 South) tied the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute when
Kennedy Mount took advantage of a mistake in the back and scored unassisted.
 
The Lady Wildcats scored what proved to be the winning goal, and took a 2-1 lead, in the 77th minute when Morrell found the mark for the second time in the game. Mary Reiger then scored the final goal of the game in the 83rd minute.
 
The Lady Bears return to action on September 13 when they host the Lady Bulldogs of Mississippi Gulf Coast. The South Division contest is set for a 2:00 start.
