Laurent records hat trick as Lady Bears defeat visiting Co-Lin

Freshman Taylor Laurent scored a "hat trick" (three goals) in the first half as the Southwest Lady Bears picked up their first win of the season, over arch-rival Co-Lin, Friday evening in Summit.

With the win, the Lady Bears moved to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the MACJC South Division. Co-Lin fell to 0-3 and 0-1.

Laurent's goals came at 7:38, 34:10 and 37:41 of the first half. Providing assists were Morgan Foster, Brinkley Gallant and Ariel Hutson.

Southwest keeper Kendyl Adam had nine games on the day.

The Lady Bears return to action Tuesday at 2:00 when they host South Division foe Jones County.
