Lady Bears' late goal not enough against Holmes

A late-second half surge by the Southwest Lady Bears fell just short Tuesday afternoon as they dropped an MACJC non-division soccer match to visiting Holmes Community College, 2-1.
 
The Lady Bears return to action at home again Friday with a 2:00 non-division match, this time against East Central.
 
Holmes got on the board with two quick goals Tuesday. Kylee Laird found the mark at 2:31 of the match while Micaela Robinson scored at 4:29.
 
The score remained the same until late in the match when Taylor Laurent scored at 88:42 with Kaitlyn Cooper assisting. But, that would be the end of the scoring as Holmes held on for the slim win.
 
Southwest keeper Kendyl Adam saved eight of 10 Holmes shots on goal.
 
With the loss, the Lady Bears dropped to 1-8 on the season while Holmes moved to 5-2.
