Alexus Holt joins Southwest Women's Basketball coaching staff

Alexus Holt joins Head Coach Brent Harris as the Assistant Coach for Southwest Women's Basketball ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Holt is a native of Epps, Louisiana and played basketball at Copiah-Lincoln Community College from 2016-2018 and at Grambling State University from 2018-2021.

Alexus led the Lady Wolves of Co-Lin to a 24-5 record and Region 23 and MACJC Runner-Up finish. She made the All-Region 23 Team, All-Region 23 Tournament Team, MACJC All-State Team, and MACJC All-Star. Holt averaged 15.7 ppg and 5.9 rpg while shooting 41.8% from the field for the Lady Wolves.

At Grambling State, Holt averaged 17 ppg and 5.3 rpg, finishing as the third leading scorer in the SWAC. She earned First Team All-SWAC and SWAC All-Tournament Team selections and was named to the BOXTOROW All-American Team.

Holt earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Grambling State University and her Higher Education Specialist from William Carey University.

Before joining the Bears, Alexus was the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Co-Lin from 2022-2024 and the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Jackson State University from 2024-2026. In her coaching experience, Holt has developed 5 All-Conference players and 2 All-Americans.

At Jackson State, Alexus assisted the Tigers to 30+ wins including back to back Top-5 Conference finishes in the last two seasons. She also developed Taleah Dilworth, the 2025 SWAC Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and First Team All-SWAC selection. Dilworth was also a First Team HBCU All-American and Boxtorow All-American.

I'm grateful to join the Southwest family and excited to help our student-athletes grow while competing at a high level."

Alexus brings her expertise to Coach Harris and the Lady Bears as he heads into his 15th year as head coach.
