Lady Bears lose to Pearl River

Box Score Southwest Mississippi Women's Basketball played the Pearl River Wildcats at home on Monday, February 23rd in a 48-71 loss.

The Lady Bears started out slow only scoring 5 points in the first quarter with a 5-14 score going into the second.

Five different Lady Bears scored in the second quarter, but the offensive struggle still continued as they found themselves in a 15-34 deficit at the half.

Southwest started the third quarter off with a bang with back to back to back three pointers from Talana Bond, Mady Smith, and Gracie Miller.

The Wildcats matched the Lady Bears' scoring and kept their lead going into the fourth quarter leading 56-34.

Southwest put up three more threes in the final quarter with 2 of them coming from Laci Buchanan, but the Wildcat lead was too large as the Lady Bears would go on to lose 48-71.

Mady Smith led the team with 10 points. Laci Buchanan was right behind her with 9 points, all from three pointers.

The Lady Bears (7-18, 3-9*conference) travel to Meridian on Thursday, February 26th to take on Meridian Community College.
