Southwest Mississippi Women's Basketball hosted Jones College at home on Monday, March 2nd for Sophomore Night and the final game of the regular season.
The Lady Bears lost to Jones College 47-64.
The first quarter began as a back and forth contest before Jones pulled away at the end.
The Lady Bears took an 11-8 lead on a Talana Bond three pointer with 3:04 left in the first.
Jones then scored 9 unanswered to go up 17-11 over Southwest to end the first quarter.
The second quarter was slow for the Lady Bears with only 5 points scored leading to a Jones 30-16 lead at halftime.
Southwest picked it up in the third quarter with the help of Laci Buchanan.
Buchanan hit back to back three pointers to chip away at the lead finishing with 3 made threes in the quarter but Jones still led 45-33 with one left to play.
The Lady Bears fought hard in the fourth quarter getting the lead to as low as 9 points until Jones pulled away once again leading to a 64-47 Jones win.
Laci Buchanan led the team with 11 points. Gracie Miller was right behind her with 10 points.
The Lady Bears finish the regular season 7-20 overall and 3-11 in conference play.
