Lady Bears struggle at host Hinds

Despite a decent start, the Lady Bears struggled to put together a complete game in a 79-77 loss to host Hinds.

The Lady Bears found themselves executing well offensively early in the contest, scoring 27 points in the opening quarter. Fouls and sloppy play led to almost even scoring in the second quarter. At halftime, the Lady Bears led 40-36.

Foul accumulation continued to trouble the Lady Bears throughout the second half. Ultimately, Hinds would go on to win 79-77.

The Lady Bears shot 27 of 39 from the free throw line. Mercedes Dorsey and Mady Smith led the Lady Bears each recording 15 points. Kayla Arterberry brought in 14 points and Laci Buchanan added 10.

The Lady Bears return to play Monday as they host the first day of the annual Coca-Cola Classic. Tip-Off for the Lady Bears is set for 5:30 pm against Southern-Shreveport.
