Lady Bears fall to Gulf Coast, 1-0

The Lady Bears and Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs engaged in a defensive battle Saturday afternoon in Summit before the visitors escaped town with a 1-0 victory.

Casey LaFontaine's goal for the Lady Bulldogs (3-2-1, 1-1-1), at 35:17 of the game, was all the offense either team could muster.

Jennifer Solis, sophomore keeper for the Lady Bears (2-3, 0-2), had five saves in the game.

Lady Bears' head coach Bee Casey said she was "proud of the effort (her team) put forth today. We grow every game to be more and more successful."

The Lady Bears return to action on September 12 when they travel to Poplarville to face the Pearl River Lady Wildcats. The MACJC South Division matchup is set for a 5:00
