Lady Bears fall to visiting Northwest

Despite outshooting their opponents 17-10, the Lady Bears tasted defeat for the first time this season Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to visiting Northwest.
 
A Taylor Williams goal at 44:39 put Northwest (2-1) on top 1-0. Landyn Hoover scored the final goal of the day at 88:07.

Despite the loss, Lady Bears head coach Bee Casey said she was proud of her squad. "We came out a three-game week, winning two and going down once. But, we proved that we can compete against (the teams) in the MACJC and we're looking forward to the division play that starts in a week and a half. I think we're ready to prepare ourselves."

The Lady Bears (2-1) return to action, and open South Division play, on September 5 when they host the Lady Bobcats of Jones County. Play is set to begin at 1:00.
