Lady Bears fall at Jones County

The MACJC South Division opener for the Southwest Lady Bears did not go as hoped Friday night as they fell to the Jones County Lady Bobcats 7-0 in Ellisville.

With the loss, the Lady Bears dropped to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in the South. The Lady Bobcats moved to 2-0 and 1-0.

The Lady Bobcats got on the board with the first of three goals from Mary Kate Smith in the 33^rd minute. Smith and teammates went on to add four additional goals.

Lady Bears head coach Bee Casey said "Jones County is a good team. (Head coach) Dolores (Deasley) has her players organized and very tactically aware of the game. I was impressed."

Despite her team's loss, Casey said, "We improved every minute. I'm very proud of my players."

The Lady Bears return to action on September 6 when they host the Lady Eagles of Meridian for a 2:00 game.
