Lady Bears drop South Division game

The Southwest soccer teams suffered dual defeats at Pearl River Saturday as the Lady Bears went down 6-0 and the Bears 4-1. The loss dropped the Lady Bears to 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the MACJC South Division. The Southwest men fell to 1-8-2 and 1-3-1.

The ladies’ game was scoreless through most of the first half. Millie Barr put the Lady Wildcats on top 1-0 with a goal at the 40:00 mark, which proved to be the only goal of the first half. Chelsea Parsons put the hosts up 2-0 with a goal at 54:00. Pearl River added four more goals in the half to take the win.

Southwest returns to action on Tuesday when they host Mississippi Gulf Coast. Game times are 2:00 for the women and 4:00 for the men.
