Box Score Tuesday's season finale against Pearl River at home was hard fought by the Bears but the Wildcats were too much for the injury-riddled hosts as they fell 6-1.
"We just made a couple of mistakes that allowed them to be dangerous, and we missed a few chances that I felt like we could have put away," Southwest head coach Zach Mills said.
The Bears (6-9-1, 3-7-1 MACCC) had difficulty getting into rhythm early. The Wildcats went on a run scoring goals in the 10
th, 14
th, 17
th and 27
th minutes.
Despite the score, the Bears battled on and got on the board in the 35
th minute as Max Ruelke set up Ilan Marin for a goal making it a 4-1 game.
The Wildcats scored the two lone goals of the second half in the 61
st and 87
th minutes as Southwest had no answer.
