Southwest Men's Soccer extends win streak to five in a row with win over Cossatot

After picking up a 3-0 victory over Northeast Alabama on Wednesday, September 9^th, Southwest Men's Soccer hosted the UA Cossatot Colts on Saturday, September 12^th.

Against Northeast Alabama, Mason Moha, Ethan Jensen, and Gavin Miller all scored a goal. Marlon Huddleston and Louis Cypers each had an assist. David Farkas spent 90 minutes in goal with 5 saves and 0 goals allowed.

The game against UA Cossatot was gritty, competitive and back and forth in a heavily defensive matchup between the Bears and the Colts.

The lone goal of the match came on a corner kick from Ilan Marin that was headed in and scored by Ethan Jensen to put Southwest up 1-0.

It was Jensen's second goal of the week and this time the game winner.

The goal against the Colts came early in the first half and the rest of the game was all defense as neither team found the back of the net again.

David Farkas had 4 saves and no goals allowed for the Bears and spent all 90 minutes in the net.

The 1-0 win over the Colts moved the Bears to 5-1 on the season and extended their win streak to 5 wins in a row.

The Bears (5-1) will face #9 Pearl River in Poplarville on Tuesday, September 15^th to open up conference play.
