Itawamba prevails over Lady Bears in double OT

The Lady Bears lost a nail-biter Sunday afternoon as they dropped a 4-3 double overtime contest to the visiting Lady Indians of Itawamba.
 
Trailing 1-0, the Lady Bears knotted the game at 1-all at 25:47 when Zy Henderson took a pass in the box from Driade Moreira and headed the ball into the back of the goal.
 
Moriera provided the assist again at the 37:59 mark when Cheyenne Higgs scored to put the Lady Bears on top 2-1. The teams went into halftime tied at 2-2 after Itawamba scored with just over 3:30 left on the clock.
 
Moriera's solo goal at 53:29 gave the Lady Bears a 3-2 advantage.
 
With just over 6:00 left in regulation, Itawamba (1-1) tied the game at 3-3. Neither team was able to find the goal the remainder of regulation, forcing the extra play.
 
Itawamba claimed the victory with a goal with just over 1:00 left in the second overtime.
 
The Lady Bears (0-2) return to the pitch on Tuesday when they host Dyersburg State in a 5:00 contest.
