Lady Bears' Ke'Asia Gray signs with Belhaven University

Southwest guard Ke'Asia Gray has signed a scholarship to continue her career with the Lady Blazers of Belhaven University.

As a starter in her final season with the Lady Bears, Gray (Magee High School) helped guide the team to a 17-8 record and an appearance in both the MACJC state tournament and Region XXIII tournament.

Lady Bears' head coach Brent Harris said Gray "has been a tremendous combo guard for our program. Her ability to knife through defenses and make tough shots has been a game-changer for us on several occasions. (Belhaven head) Coach (Steve) Calder and his staff did a great job in following her and she will be a great addition to their backcourt."

Throughout her career as a Lady Bear, Gray grabbed numerous offensive boards and made many defensive stops that helped guide the team to a victory. Her 13 points against Jones County led the Lady Bears to a thrilling overtime victory over their South Division rivals.

In addition to her success on the court, Gray has also been a leader in the classroom, maintaining a 3.68 GPA and being inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.
