Lady Bears edge visiting Co-Lin, 2-1

The Southwest Lady Bears moved to 2-4 overall with a 2-1 home win over arch-rival Co-Lin Friday afternoon. The win also puts the Lady Bears at 1-0 in the MACJC South Division.

Co-Lin took an early 1-0 lead when S' Middleton score unassisted at 10:00 of the first half. The lead held up until 15:00 when Devin Cassett picked up an unassisted goal to knot the game at 1-1 at the break.

Just two minutes into the second half, the Nicole Daigle took a pass from Cassett and scored on a goal just out of the reach of the Co-Lin goalkeeper's hand to give the Lady Bears the winning margin.

The Lady Bears totaled 14 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Haley Allen saved two of three Co-Lin shots on goal.

The Lady Bears return to action Tuesday when they host the Pearl River Lady Wildcats in a 2:00 South Division match.
