Lady Bears fall at Gulf Coast

In a defensive struggle, the Southwest Lady Bears were shut out by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in Perkinston. The Lady Bears dropped to 2-6 and 1-2 with the loss while Gulf Coast moved to 1-4 and 1-2.

A goal by Bree Bonner at 84:00 proved to be all the goals the hosts would need to get the win. But, Moriah Minnis added one more just minutes later.

Lady Bears' keeper Hayley Allen saved 20 of the 22 Gulf Coast shots on goal.

The Lady Bears hit the road again on Tuesday when they visit the Jones County Lady Bobcats in Ellisville. The match is scheduled for a 5:00 start.
