Lady Bears tie Co-Lin, 2-2, in double overtime

Playing through extreme conditions, the Southwest Lady Bears left Wesson Friday night with a 2-2 double-overtime tie with home standing Co-Lin in MACJC South Division soccer action. The teams battled themselves as well as almost constant rain.
 
Jessica St. Pierre put the Southwest ladies (0-7-1) on top 1-0 with an unassisted goal at 17:00 of the first half in the opening match. Co-Lin (0-10, 0-5 South) made the score 1-1 at the half when Caitlin Lofton scored at 25:00.
 
The score remained tied until the 70:00 mark when Daniela Orozco put the hosts on top 2-1. A free kick from the Lady Bears' Nicole Daigle at 83:00 tied the game at 2-2. St. Pierre recorded an assist. The game ended in a 2-2 tie when neither team was able to score in the two extra periods.
 
The Lady Bears are set to travel to Senatobia Tuesday to face the Lady Rangers of Northwest. The non-division matchup is set to get underway at 2:00.
