Kate Clements is a Sophomore catcher for Southwest Mississippi Softball.

Kate has signed with the University of Alabama at Birmingham to continue her academic and athletic career.

Kate is from McComb and attended North Pike. She has started the last two seasons for the Lady Bears and started every game possible in her career.

As a freshman, Kate had a .305 batting average with 36 hits including 6 doubles, 3 homeruns, and 25 RBIs. She also had an on base percentage of .401 with 25 runs scored.

In her sophomore campaign, Clements improved in almost every category.

Kate had a .366 batting average with 49 hits including 10 doubles, 6 homeruns, and 24 RBIs this season. She had a .427 on base percentage with 32 runs scored.

Kate also stole 11 bases across her two seasons.

Clements has helped lead the Lady Bears to a playoff berth in the 2026 season

"Their program is fantastic. Their facilities and everything are so nice, and their coaches do a lot of stuff that I actually work on for hitting.  You hit your way. Everybody hits different. And they kind of have a program that works with that and works with hitters," said Clements when asked why she chose UAB, "and it's just an overall great program and environment to be around."

"I can take my friendships with me. I'm going to have them forever, and I've made some of my best friends here at Southwest. I plan on some of them being in my wedding. So, Southwest has given me that, and I am super grateful for it," said Clements.

Kate is the third Lady Bear this year to sign to a four-year school.
