Nineteen Southwest student athletes were recognized this week as College Sports Communicators All-District honors. The list recognizes sophomore student athletes who maintained at least a 3.5 GPA while also excelling on their respective field or court.

Of the 19 selected, 10 were on the women's side and nine on the men.

The women are basketball's Kara Beth Addison and Kalea Williams; soccer's Caroline Barcelona, Abby Davis, Mary Claire McCurley and Amari Simmons and softball's Liberty Gillihan, Alyssa Leggett, Abbey Pevey and Maggie Wilks.

On the men's side is baseball's Dawson Richard, Trace Roy and Gage Hinnant, men's soccer's Joel Bastida, Nico Fischer, Roberto Garcia Gomez and Justin Ruiz and men's golf's Daillon Kryzanowski.

The College Division's All-America Teams will be announced next month. The women's team will be announced on July 8 and the men's on July 9.
