Bear Golf’s Daillon Kryzanowski earns prestigious Lyceum Scholarship to attend Ole Miss

For the past two years, Daillon Kryzanowski has been recognized several times for his accomplishments on the golf course as a member of the Southwest Men's Golf Team. However, simultaneously, he was also getting it done in the classroom finishing with a 4.0 GPA. And for his academic accomplishment, he was awarded the prestigious Lyceum Scholarship to attend Ole Miss.

"I was very excited," he said. "I was actually in a hotel room while playing in a tournament and I got the call. Right away they said that you were going to get the scholarship and I was excited. I actually jumped around the room a bit."

The annual scholarship award is awarded to 15 transfer students from across the nation who succeed in and out of the classroom.

Another added factor for Kryzanowski – a native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada  –  was that he had his heart set on attending Ole Miss where he said he has multiple friends who attend. He adds, though, that he is planning on not playing golf at Ole Miss and focusing on his academics and goal of getting a degree in Engineering, whether it be in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering..

"It definitely was the dream school," he said. "Other than not playing golf, it was definitely the one I wanted to go to."

Kryzanowski adds that he has always pushed himself to put his academics at the top of his priority list. In addition, he has received plenty of support and motivation back home in Canada.

"I always took academics seriously," he said. "My oldest sister, she is very smart and my older sister is also smart. They both graduated from university back home. My mom has always pushed us to study and do well in school because that is going to take you a long way. I try hard, I definitely push myself to try and do as best as I can. It means a lot to me."
