The Bear Tennis teams put up a fight Sunday at Millsaps but were unable to keep pace with the Majors, falling 5-0 on the women's side and 6-0 on the men's.
"We did the best that we could with what we had," Southwest head coach Dean Clower said. "We had chances but we didn't solidify when we got up a break."
Among the highlights was women's singles No. 1 Martina Troncoso who battled to a third set. After falling 7-5 in the first, she came away with a 6-3 decision in the second but fell 1-0 in the third.
Another was men's No. 1 singles Manan Kumar who fell in his match but battled to 6-3 and 6-4 set scores.
The teams will be back in action on Tuesday as they host conference rival Hinds at 2 p.m.
