Even though they put up a fight and picked up key wins in Monday's home conference matches against Northwest, the Bears and Lady Bears Tennis Teams came up just short against the Rangers, falling 4-5 on the men's side and 1-5 on the women's.
On the women's side, Martina Trancoso once again had a strong showing in singles play as the No. 1 singles player won her match 6-3, 6-1.
On the men's side the same can be said for No. 1 doubles Mansur Khajimuradov and Manan Kumar as the duo won 8-6.
Both Khajimuradov and Kumar, the No. 1 and No. 2 singles players respectively, also won their singles matches. Khajimuradov won 6-3, 6-0 while Kumar took home a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Also shining in singles play was No. 6 Thomas Simpson who fought hard to earn a 6-3, 7-6 victory.
Southwest will be back in action on Friday as the men and women travel north to Wesson to face Co-Lin at 2 p.m.
