Box Score The Bears knew that they had a tough task ahead of them in the No. 7 Jones Bobcats in Tuesday's home contest. And even though they played hard, they could not pull it out in the end, falling 4-0.
"We knew that it would be tough to break down Jones, they are a good team," Southwest head coach Zach Mills said. "I'm actually very proud of my guys tonight, we played really hard. The score really didn't reflect how it went down, they just had some set pieces that we couldn't cover."
The Bears (5-7-1, 2-5-1 MACCC) went toe-to-toe with the Bobcats early but the visitors broke through in the 23
rd minute with a goal putting Southwest down 1-0.
That score stayed true for the remainder of the first half as the Bears had difficulty getting shots against a very-tough Bobcats team.
Jones added their next two goals in the 52
nd and 75
th minutes, respectively before tallying their fourth in the 83
rd minute on a penalty kick.
The Bears will return to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. hosting Meridian.
