Bears tennis picks up win over Holmes

The Bears tennis team picked up its first win of the season Friday afternoon as they defeated the Holmes Bulldogs 8-2 in Goodman.
 
In #1 doubles, Canden Grantham and Dontavius McCoy won 8-2; in #2 doubles, Caleb Boutwell and Parker Wilks were 8-6 winners; and, in #3 doubles, Jacob Brown and Josh King were victorious 8-5.
 
In singles play-#1 Grantham won 6-1, 6-0; #3 McCoy won 6-0, 6-1; #4 Wills won 6-3, 6-2; #5 Brown won 6-0, 6-0; and, #7 Mills won 6-0, 6-0.
 
The next schedule matches for the Southwest teams are February 2 at Jones in Ellisville.
