Bears shutout at East Central

East Central's Desmond Williams returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and the host Warriors went on the defeat the Bears 21-0 Thursday night in Decatur.
 
The Warriors (1-1) would take a 14-0 lead into intermission. They scored their final touchdown in the final quarter.
 
Jerry Johnson led the Bears' offense with 93 yards rushing on 11 carries. Brandon Edmondson and Jaidyn Wilson combined to complete 6 of 21 passes for 52 yards.
 
The Bears picked up 8 first downs in the game and were penalized 3 times for 23 yards. Josh Massa averaged 35.5 yards on 11 punts.
 
Holman Edwards completed 17 of 29 passes for 135 yards, with a touchdown, to pace the Warriors. 
 
The Warriors recorded 10 first downs on the night and were penalized 5 times for 88 yards. Robens Beauplan punted 11 times for an average of 38.5 yards per punt.
 
After taking a week off, the Bears (0-2) return to the gridiron on October 22 when they host the Jones Bobcats in a scheduled 6:30 contest.
