The Bears made their home debut a complete success Friday with dramatic 11-1 and 6-5 wins over the visiting Frontier Community College Bobcats. Game one ended after five innings.

The Bears took a 2-0 first-inning lead in game one on a Tyler White RBI single and a passed ball that allowed Paco Bello, on base via an error.

With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, the Bears (4-2) scored five runs to extend their lead to 7-1. Two runs came thanks to a Zach Dearman single while Bello doubled to score a pair and a Britt Netterville sacrifice fly accounted for the fifth run.

Dearman brought the game to an end in the Bears' fifth in dramatic fashion when, with the bases loaded, he sent a 2-1 pitch over the left-field fence for a grand slam.

Ethan Campo picked up the win on the mound, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk in his five innings of work. He struck out five batters.
Michael Buck had a double in the game.

The Bears had to come from behind twice to win the nightcap.

Trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the sixth, the Bears tied the game at 3-3 on a two-RBI double by Bello and a dropped third strike later in the inning that allowed Bello to score from third when Buck reached first.

Passed balls proved to be the Bobcat's (2-4) undoing in the bottom of the seventh  after they had taken a 5-3 lead in the top of the frame. White was hit by a pitch to start the frame and later scored on a passed ball; Logan Larrimore, on base via a single, scored on a passed ball; and, Landon Stewart, on base with a walk, scored the winning run on a two-out passed ball.

Keith McKigney picked up the win for the Bears in relief, striking out the only batter he faced. Netterville had a double in the game.

The Bears return to the diamond on February 20 when they travel to New Orleans to face the Delgado Dolphins. The first pitch of the twin bill is set for 4:00.
