The Itawamba Indians made the long trek from Fulton to Summit Thursday night and left town with a 35-10 win over the home standing Bears.

The Indians drew first blood in the game, scoring on a 28-yard Clark Mills to Barry Flowers touchdown pass with 11:48 left in the opening quarter. Skylar Grissom booted the PAT to make the score 7-0.

With 2:41 left in the quarter, Brazos Webb capped an 11-play, 60 yard march with a 30-yard field goal to pull the Bears to within 7-3 heading into the second quarter.

A pair of touchdowns by the Indians (4-4, 3-2 MACJC North) and a pair of Grissom PAT's left the visitors on top 21-3 at intermission.

The Bears brought the home crowd to its feet with 12:21 left in the third quarter when Radell Washington intercepted a Mills pass and returned it to the end zone. Webb added the PAT to narrow the Bears' deficit to 21-10.

That would be as close as the Bears would get, however, as the Indians scored a touchdown late in the third quarter and added one more in the fourth to close out the win.

The Bears (0-8, 0-5 MACJC South) were led on offense by Ja'Tyler Moore who went 7-12 passing for 68 yards. Da'Bryan Magee completed 4 of 13 passes for 46 yards and had two passes intercepted. Gerkithis McCray hauled in six passes for 54 yards.

The Bears recorded nine first downs in the game and were whistled for 75 yards on nine penalties. Jack Runnels averaged 36.4 yards on nine punts.

Mills paced the Indians' offense by going 18-34 passing for 274 yards, with two touchdowns. He was intercepted twice.

The Indians had 21 first downs on the night and were penalized 13 times for 90 yards. Brett Benjamin averaged 34.4 yards on seven punts.

The Bears close out the regular season, and celebrate Homecoming, on October 26 with a 5:00 game against Co-Lin.
