Madero's two goals help Bears defeat LSU-Eunice

The Bears played their final non-division game of the season Friday night in Lafayette, LA, and came away with a 3-1 win over the host LSU-Eunice Bengals.
 
Eight minutes into the match, Joaquin Bermejillo played a through ball in to Felipe Madero. Madero then hit the ball into the upper 90 to put the Bears (9-1) on top 1-0. The lead held until the 23:00 mark when the Bengals (4-2-2) scored to tie the game at 1-1. 
                                           
At 55:00 of the game, Nate Bond crossed the ball in to PJ Irwin who headed it across the keeper into the net for a 2-1 lead for the Bears.
 
The deal was sealed at 84:00 when Patrick Larsen passed the ball to Madero with his back heel. Madero then fired it into the goal to give the Bears their final margin of victory.
 
With the help of the Bears' back line, led by Irwin, the Bengals were held to two shots on goal. Bears' keeper Ean Sherman had one save.
 
"Anytime you go on the road and come back with a win you have to be satisfied," said Bears head coach Alex Brown. "LSU-E has a good team; they really made us earn everything. We get back to (MACJC South) Division play next week (October 3 at Jones College) so that's where our focus is turning to now."
 
The match at Jones College is scheduled for a 7:00 start.
