Bears go down at Jones College

The Bears suffered a tough defeat Wednesday night in Ellisville, falling to the host Jones College Bobcats 3-1.
 
With the loss, the Bears (9-2, 3-2) dropped to 3rd place in the MACJC South with three games remaining. The Bobcats (9-1, 4-1) ended the night in 2nd place.
 
After a scoreless first half, Felipe Madero took a pass from Patrick Larsen and scored one-on-one with the Bobcats' keeper to put the Bears up 1-0 at the 61:40 mark.
 
The Bobcats tied the score at 1-1 at 74:38 and took a 2-1 lead at 77:00. They scored the final goal of the night at 82:00 to secure the win.
 
"I'm not disappointed with our performance at all," said Bears head coach Alex Brown. "I felt like we dominated the ball the whole game. I'm only disappointed in the result."
 
"Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way; that's the reality of it," Brown continued. "We are still in a great position, though. We have a big game against Pearl River Saturday (and) that's where our focus is now."
 
The Bears return home on October 6 with a 3:00 South Division contest against Pearl River.
