Bears fall at 17th ranked Co-Lin

The Bears gave it their best shot, but it was not quite good enough as they ended the 2018 football season with a 31-17 loss in Wesson to 17th ranked Co-Lin Saturday afternoon.
 
The Bears held a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter with Da'Bryan Magee capping a three-play, 73-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown strike to
Damarcus Mitchell. Brazos Webb booted the extra point.
 
Starting on their own three-yard line, the Bears (1-8, 0-6 MACJC South) extended their lead to 14-3 with 13:30 left in the second quarter when Magee ended a 10-play, 97-yard march with a one-yard scamper into the end zone. Webb again kicked the extra point.
 
Co-Lin (6-3, 5-1 South) responded with a touchdown run by Deion Damper and Ashton Garner's PAT to close the Bears' lead to 14-10 at the end of the half.
 
The teams were tied 17-17 at the end of the third quarter. After Co-Lin picked up a short touchdown run that, along with Garner's extra point, gave them a three-point lead, the Bears tied the game on Webb's 36-yard field goal with 4:42 on the clock.
 
Co-Lin took a 24-17 lead with 7:12 left in the fourth quarter and went on to add another touchdown to reach their final margin of victory.
 
Magee was 8-19 passing, for 157 yards, to lead the Bears' offense. He threw one touchdown pass and was intercepted once. Johnny Wilson had three catches for 31 yards. Mitchell had a touchdown reception.
 
Zarious Keyes carried the ball 18 times for 93 yards.
 
Jack Runnels punted five times for 31.2 yards.
 
Hayden Davis went 14-19 passing for 155 yards and a touchdown to pace the Co-Lin offense. Rico Owens carried the ball 16 times for 105 yards.
