The Bears were shutout for the first time in 2018 when they dropped a 41-0 decision to the host Itawamba Indians Thursday night in Fulton.

Things did not look all that bleak in the first quarter as the Indians (5-3, 3-2 MACJC North) were held to an 18-yard Caleb Comer field goal. But, the wheels came off for the Bears in the second quarter as the Indians scored four touchdowns and picked up another Comer field goal to extend their lead to 34-0 at halftime.

The Bears (1-7, 0-5 MACJC South) played much tougher on defense in the second half, limiting their hosts to a late fourth-quarter touchdown.

"We were really poor, offensively, in the first half," said Bears head coach Tim Stowers. "I thought, in the second half, we did a much better job of competing as a team even though we're not satisfied with 41-0."

Da'Bryan Magee led the Bears' offense, completing 13 of 24 passes for 178 yards; he was intercepted once. Johnny Wilson caught two passes for 75 yards while
Ali Henson had 28 yards on five receptions.

Magee carried the ball 14 times for 24 yards.

Quarterback Clark Mills paced the Indians' offense, completing 16 of 17 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bears close out their season on October 27 when they pay a visit to the Co-Lin Wolves. Kickoff in Wesson is set for 3:00.
