The Bears ran their record to 11-1 overall, and 2-1 in the MACJC' South Division, Thursday night with a 90-70 home win over the Jones County Bobcats.

The Bears took an early 5-0 lead before the visitors went on a 10-0 run to go on top 10-5 with 16:43 left in the first half.

The Bears trailed Jones County 19-13, with 13:23 before the break, then outscored Jones County 13-6 and took a 26-25 lead on an
Aleksa Dobrijevic three pointer with 9:29 on the clock.

After Jones County (7-5, 2-1) went on top 28-26 with 9:12 before halftime, the Bears went on an 18-8 run to end the half. A
Jeremy Harrell bucket, with 7:47 on the clock, put the Bears on top for good, 30-28. T J Ben's three pointer then left the Bears with a 44-36 advantage at the end of the first 20:00.

A pair of
John Knight III free throws, with 19:35 left in the game, gave the Bears their largest lead to that point, 48-39. Jones County, however, was not quite ready to call it quits as they went on a 12-2 run to take a 51-50 lead with 13:41 still to play.

Momentum then went back to the Bears' side of the scoreboard as they went on a 14-2 run and push out to a 64-53 lead on
Roydell Brown's layup with 9:58 to go. It was a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

A 17-5 run, capped by a Brown dunk, gave the Bears their largest lead of the night, 85-64, with 2:48 to play. They then went on to claim the 20-point win.

"I thought tonight was our best game as a team," said Bears head man Thomas Gray. "I think, offensively, our guys had a great mindset of going out there and not getting in a rush and setting up their teammates to score."

Brown had 24 points and 12 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season, to pace the Bears' win. Harrell hit 10 of 14 field goals to total 20 points. Dobrijevic and Ben also scored in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively.  The Bears made 12 of 14 free throws.

David Gaines, Jr., led Jones County with 23 points. The visitors were 9-16 from the free throw line.

The Bears return to action on Saturday when they travel to Meridian Community College to face the Eagles in a 3:00 South Division matchup.
