Delor's hat trick, Jenkins 2nd shutout helps Bears win at home over Northwest

Jaime Delor's hat trick and two assists and Kade Jenkins' second straight shutout helped the Southwest Bears move to 2-0 on the young campaign as they defeated visiting Northwest Mississippi 6-0 Saturday afternoon.
 
Sophomore Morris Aitken gave the Bears the only goal they would need when, with less than 3:00 off the clock, he scored from inside the box to make the score 1-0. Delor recorded the assist.
 
Joey Barrick had the Bears up 2-0 after he scored an unassisted goal in the 6th minute.
 
With assists from Francisco Alisiardi and Michael Escobar, Delor scored in the 61st and 68th minutes to increase the Bears' lead to 4-0. With an assist from Delor,
Derrick Houston scored his first goal of the season in the 84th minute to put the Bears up 5-0.Houston then returned the favor and assisted on Delor's third goal with 5:13 to play to close out the scoring.

Jenkins had 10 saves as he recorded the shutout.
 
"I loved how our guys possessed the ball," said Bears head man Zach Mills. "They moved it around just like we've worked on. They were really doing what they have been practicing (and) I appreciate that from them. Their hard work paid off."
 
"The goals kind of fell into place for us," Mills continued, "with Jaime scoring a hat trick with beautiful finishes. Our work ethic has gotten us here and, hopefully, it'll keep taking us to the next level."
 
The Bears make their first road trip on Tuesday when they travel to Ridgeland for a 4:00 game against the Holmes Bulldogs.
