Bear beat Co-Lin behind Morris Aitken's record-setting performance

Freshman forward Morris Aitken became the first Southwest soccer player (male or female) ever to score four goals in a game as the Bears defeated arch-rival Co-Lin 6-1 Friday afternoon in Summit.
 
The Bears moved to 2-1-1 overall and 1-0 in the MACJC South Division while Co-Lin dropped to 0-3, 0-1.
 
After the Bears fell behind early, 1-0, on a penalty kick goal by Co-Lin's Aaron Guiterrez, Aitken picked up goals at 17:22 and 41:11 of the first half to give the home team a 2-1 lead at the break. Vadim Drake assisted on the first goal while the second came on a penalty kick.
 
At 17:31 of the second half, Sean Spears provided the assist as Tristen Nicholson scored to put the Bears up 3-1. Aitken then scored again at 21:59 and 24:11, with assists from Tristan Garriga and Will Parish, to make the score 5-1. The Bears' final goal of the day came with only 0:28 to play as Brock Andrus found the back of the goal with Drew McInnis assisting.

Keeper Bryant Boyington had six saves for the Bears.
 
The Bears return to action Tuesday when they host Jones County in a South Division match. Action is set for a 4:00 start.
