Long-time Pearl River SID Mitch Deaver passes away

It was a great shock to learn earlier this week of the sudden passing of long-time Pearl River Sports Information Director Mitch Deaver at the age of 62.

Mitch had served Pearl River in the capacity of SID since 1996 and was well respected by everyone who knew him. He never failed to provide pictures to those of us who might need them, especially if our team was visiting Pearl River. He will be missed by all of us who knew and worked with him. Visits to Pearl River will not be the same without him.

Mitch is survived by his brother, Mac Deaver; and his sisters-Michelle Slade, Melissa Bourn and Melanie Hanlin; and, a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mitch will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in Purvis.
