Co-Lin takes two from Lady Bears

Arch-rival Co-Lin took a pair of MACJC South Division games from Southwest in Wesson Wednesday, winning the opener 6-1 before taking the nightcap 10-4.
 
The Lady Bears are scheduled to return to the diamond Friday when they travel to Raymond to take on the Hinds Lady Eagles. The first pitch of game one is set for 1:00.
 
At Co-Lin, the Lady Bears (8-8, 0-4) fell behind 4-0 in game one before getting their only run in the top of the fifth inning. JESSIE PENTON reached base on a two-out error and scored on JESSICA PIPKINS' base hit to right field. Co-Lin added solo runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to produce the final score.
 
MADDY TEAGUE took the loss in the circle for the Lady Bears, giving up six runs (four earned) on 11 hits and four walks in six innings. She struck out two batters.
 
Penton had a double in the game while AUSTIN PRUITT had two singles among the Lady Bears' six hits.
 
The Lady Bears took a 4-1 lead in the second inning of the finale, but were unable to make it stand. SHADEN MILLER and Penton both had RBI singles in the frame while MACY FULTON and Miller both scored on passed balls.
 
Co-Lin (8-4, 2-2) tied the game with three runs in their half of the third then added three runs again in both the fifth and sixth innings to take the win.
 
Fulton took the loss for the Lady Bears, allowing 10 runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk in six innings in the circle. She struck out two batters.
 
The Lady Bears recorded seven hits in the game. Fulton and Penton both had two hits in the game while Pruitt tripled.
