Fulton's perfect game, Roberts' two homers powers Lady Bears to sweep of Coahoma

MACY FULTON's (MARION, LA) perfect game in the opener and SARAH ROBERTS' (WINNSBORO, LA) two home runs in the finale helped the Southwest Lady Bears sweep the visiting Coahoma Lady Tigers Tuesday afternoon. Both games ended after four innings with identical 13-0 scores.
 
Three hits by the Lady Bears and two Coahoma errors helped the Lady Bears take a 4-0 lead after one inning in game one. The home team added eight runs in the second inning and a solo run in the third. Fulton allowed struck out 10 batters.
 
PAYTON LEWIS (ALEXANDRIA, LA) went 3-3 in the game and scored two runs. JESSICA PIPKINS (PERRY CENTRAL HS) added two base hits while JESSIE PENTON (GOSS ROAD SCHOOL), LEYTON TERRELL (MCCOMB HS),
AUSTIN PRUITT ( PEARL RIVER CENTRAL HS) and Fulton all hit safely.
 
Roberts was the story in game two. Her two-run blast in the bottom of the first inning propelled the Lady Bears (5-1) to a 6-0 lead. She then added a solo shot to lead off the second inning as the Lady Bears took a 10-0 lead. The team added three more runs in the third.
 
KEELY FORTENBERRY (TYLERTOWN HS) pitched two innings, striking out three and walking one, to get the win for the Lady Bears.  TORI REEVES (GEORGE COUNTY HS) and LEANN JACKSON (PUCKETT HS) also pitched.
 
SEANA FLYNN (PASS CHRISTIAN HS) was 3-3 in the game, with a double. Pruitt had two hits, including a double, while MADDY TEAGUE (LONG BEACH HS) also had two hits. TORI REEVES (GEORGE COUNTY HS) doubled with JANA MCEWEN (NORTH PIKE HS) picking up a triple.
 
The Lady Bears are at home again Thursday with a doubleheader against Holmes Community College. The first pitch of game one is set for 3:00.
