Bears, visiting Bulldogs battled to 0-0 double overtime tie

The Southwest Bears and visiting Holmes Bulldogs battled through two overtimes and a total of 110 minutes Tuesday afternoon and ended their soccer match the way it began, in a 0-0 tie. With the tie, the Bears' record now stands at 0-2-1 while Holmes drops to 1-1.
 
Both team had numerous chances to secure a win, but excellent play from the goalkeepers kept either squad from finding the mark. Southwest keeper Bryant Boyington saved all 10 Holmes shots on goal, including one in overtime.
 
The Bears hit the road for the first time Friday when they travel to Senatobia to face the Northwest Rangers. The match is set to begin at 4:00.
