Bears suffer double overtime loss to visiting Jones County

Two first-half goals from Conner Masters were not enough Wednesday afternoon as visiting Jones County left Southwest with a 3-2 double overtime win in their MACJC South Division soccer match.
 
The Bears return to action Friday as they travel to Poplarville to face the Pearl River Wildcats. The match is set go get underway at 3:00.
 
Masters gave Southwest a 1-0 lead at 4:00 Wednesday as he scored off a pass from teammate Destin Beech. Jones County's Souleymane Diakite tied the match with a goal three minutes later. Masters then added his second goal, and gave the Bears a 2-1 halftime lead, at 22:00. Joel Villa provided the assist.
 
The Bears held on to their slim lead until Eddie Ramirez scored for the Bobcats at 75:00 to tie the game at 2-2. Neither team could score in the final 15:00 of regulation, forcing the extra play.
 
After a scoreless first overtime, the match finally came to an end when Jones County's Kevin Kdongo scored at 102:00 to give the victory.
