Coach Casey Carter announces three more signees

Southwest men’s basketball head coach Casey Carter has announced the signing of brothers Deville and Devion Smith (Callaway High School) and Deione Weeks (Corinth High School) for his 2012-13 squad. The Smiths attended Callaway High School (Jackson).
 
Deville Smith, a transfer from Mississippi State, averaged 22.2 points 4.4 rebounds and 4 assists per game as a senior at Callaway. A four-star recruit, he was named the 14th best point guard in the country by ESPN and was a “Clarion-Ledger” Dandy Dozen selection. He also participated in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game and helped lead Callaway to state titles as a sophomore and junior.
 
Devion Smith, a 6’ 2” guard, averaged 4 points and 2 rebounds per game and was a member of the 2012 Callaway state championship team.  Both Smiths were coached in high school by Wayne Brent.
 
Weeks, a 6’ 3” guard, averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 assists and 5.8 rebounds for Coach Keith Greene’s Warriors. He was named First Team All-District and District Offensive Player of the Year. In addition, he was selected team and county MVP and was a “Clarion-Ledger” All-State honorable mention. He was also named to the 4A All-State tournament team and participated in the Mississippi All-Star game
